The Moto G Play is about getting a dependable, current phone for the very least money — and this year's addition of tap-to-pay makes it more useful. Just go in knowing the trade-offs: slow charging, one rear camera, a softer screen. For a simple everyday phone or a spare, it's excellent value. Buy from Motorola, a carrier or a trusted store.

4 How do I move everything from my old phone?

From another Android phone, the setup screen offers to copy your apps and data — easiest with a cable between the two phones, or from your Google backup over Wi-Fi.
