6-Month Tune-Up — $59 flat. Catch problems before they catch you.
Six months after my first visit, the little stuff usually starts piling up — a forgotten password, a smart plug that quietly fell off the network, a software update that's been nagging you. The Tune-Up is a focused 60-to-90-minute check-in to clean all of that up before it turns into a real problem. $59, no surprises.
Why I built this
The way I work has always been simple: a flat $99 first visit gets us set up, the 30-day follow-up is free, and after that you can call me whenever something breaks. That's still how it works. But over the last year I noticed a pattern — about six months after a visit, a lot of folks would call back with a stack of small annoyances that had built up. None of them emergencies on their own, all of them solvable in an hour if I just came back through.
The Tune-Up is for that. Preventive care, not break/fix. Lower price than a fresh first visit because I already know your setup. No monthly bill like the $39/mo plan — it's a one-time visit, twice a year if it suits you. Skip if you don't want it. The offer just exists in case you do.
What's covered in the 60-90 minutes
- 📡 Wi-Fi health check. Live speed test, signal map of every room, and a fresh look at the router settings. If your password's been floating around (kids, neighbors, contractors) I'll rotate it cleanly and re-pair the devices you actually use.
- 📱 Software updates across the house. Phone, tablet, laptop, smart-home hubs — anything that's been bugging you to update for two months. I do them in the right order so nothing breaks, and I'm here if it does.
- 🛡️ Security audit. Password manager review (no judgment if you've slipped), 2FA where it actually matters, and a quick walk-through of any new scam patterns that have shown up in Portage County since I was here last. The "have you gotten this call?" conversation.
- 🏠 Smart home device check. Cameras still online? Plugs still responding to Alexa? Thermostat schedule still right for the season? Doorbell still pinging your phone? I run through each one and quietly re-pair anything that's drifted off the network.
- 💬 "What's new since I was here last" Q&A. Bring the list of little things you've been meaning to ask. New TV remote you don't trust. A grandkid asking about something you don't know. An app you stopped using because it confused you. We work through it.
Who this is for
Anyone I've worked with before whose first visit was at least five months ago. If everything's still mostly working but you've got a list of small nags piling up — this visit is built for that. If you want preventive care twice a year without committing to a monthly bill — this is the way to do it.
If you're already on the $39/month Support Plan, you don't need to book this — your monthly check-ins already cover the same ground (and then some). If we've never met, the $99 First Visit is the right starting point because I need to learn your setup before a Tune-Up makes sense.
💻 Small stuff pop up between tune-ups? You don't have to wait — a flat $49 remote screen-share can knock out a setting, an email hiccup, or a "how do I…?" question, no house call needed. And it's free if you're on the $39/mo Support Plan. See how remote works →
What's NOT covered (being straight with you)
The Tune-Up is intentionally narrow. If your visit needs any of these, we should book the $99 First Visit (or a project visit) instead — I don't want you paying $59 for a visit that can't actually solve what you've got going on:
- ✗ New installs of any kind (router upgrade, doorbell, camera, smart lock, soundbar)
- ✗ Structural cable work or in-wall rewiring
- ✗ Anything that needs replacement parts I'd have to bring
- ✗ A device that's completely dead or won't power on — that's a diagnostic visit
- ✗ Onboarding a new family member or new home — that's a fresh First Visit so I can learn the setup
If you're not sure which kind of visit you need, just call. We'll figure it out in five minutes and pick whichever one's right.
"Bill installed our Ring camera, set up Alexa, connected four wireless plugs, and integrated everything seamlessly. In separate rooms, he connected our TVs and sound systems to speakers, and also set up our email and Adobe software on an older Mac we'd nearly abandoned — and now use regularly again. He's friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and showed excellent problem-solving throughout. We highly recommend Bill for any in-home electronics or technology services."
