Wi-Fi Help — Fix Dead Zones, Dropouts & Slow Internet

Most people don't have a Wi-Fi problem — they have a router-placement problem, an old gateway, or a device that never reconnected after the network name changed. I come to your home, walk every room, and fix the actual issue so the back bedroom stops dropping out.

$99 flat in your home · $49 flat remote screen-share · no contracts, no hourly billing

Why one room always has bad Wi-Fi

Nine times out of ten the router is sitting on the floor of a basement or front closet, right where the cable comes in — the worst possible spot. The signal has to fight through walls, ductwork, and a floor before it reaches the room you actually use. Sometimes it's an old gateway the internet company never upgraded; sometimes the network name changed and half your devices are still hunting for the old one. I figure out which it is and fix it, instead of selling you equipment you don't need.

What the flat fee covers

One price for the whole visit — diagnosis, the fix, and a plain-English walkthrough. Here's what's included:

  • Router placement check — moved off the floor to where the signal actually reaches.
  • Dead-zone fix — a plug-in mesh node for back bedrooms, porches, and offices. No drilling.
  • A Wi-Fi name & password you'll remember — written down for you and the router labeled.
  • Every device reconnected — TVs, printers, phones, tablets, cameras, doorbells, thermostats.
  • A speed test in every room — so you can see the difference.
  • 30-day phone follow-up — if it flakes out, we fix it on the phone, no charge.

What's not included (I'll tell you straight)

  • —The hardware itself (a mesh kit, a new router, ethernet cable) — I quote it at retail first, no markup.
  • —Raising your internet company's plan speed — that's between you and them, but I'll tell you if your plan is the real bottleneck.
  • —Running cable inside finished walls — that's a job for an electrician; I'll point you to the right person.
Up to 3 hours in your home — and if it runs long, it's still $99. Need hardware? I quote it at retail before buying anything — no markup, no upsell, no monthly fee. 30-day phone follow-up included.

The Wi-Fi problems I fix most

After several hundred Wi-Fi visits across Portage County, here's the short list.

📵 Dead zone in one room

The back bedroom, the porch, the upstairs office. Usually fixed by repositioning the router or adding one small mesh node.

🐌 Everything is slow at night

Often an old gateway or everyone streaming at once on a router that can't keep up. I'll tell you whether it's the equipment or the plan.

🔁 Keeps dropping and reconnecting

A failing gateway, interference, or a device stuck between two access points. I find the cause instead of guessing.

🔑 Nobody knows the password

New phone, new grandkid visiting, new smart TV — and the password is a mystery. I set one you'll remember and write it down.

📺 Devices won't reconnect after a change

The internet company swapped the box and now the TV, printer, and cameras are offline. I reconnect every one.

🏡 Big house or rural property

Two stories, a finished basement, a barn or detached garage. A thoughtfully placed mesh kit covers it in one visit.

Common questions

How much does Wi-Fi help cost?

$99 flat for an in-home visit — that covers diagnosis, repositioning or replacing the router, adding a mesh node, setting a new name and password, and reconnecting your devices. If I can solve it by screen-share instead, a remote session is a flat $49. If you need hardware, I quote it at retail before buying anything.

Do I really need a mesh system?

Most single-story homes don't. If you have a two-story house, a finished basement, or you're on an acre or more, a small mesh kit (Eero, Deco, or Nest) usually clears dead zones in one visit. I'll tell you straight whether you actually need one before recommending anything.

Can you fix my Wi-Fi remotely?

Some of it — I can log into many routers by screen-share to change settings, rename the network, or fix a device that won't connect, for a flat $49. But dead zones and placement problems need me walking the rooms, so those are a $99 in-home visit.

My internet company already came out and it still doesn't work. Can you help?

Very common. The installer connects the gateway but doesn't walk the house, so your TVs, printers, and cameras are still hunting for the old network. I reconnect them, label the network, and write the password down so the next person doesn't have to call.

How soon can you come?

Usually within 24 to 48 hours — no guaranteed emergency service, but same-day is sometimes possible. Call or text (330) 200-8042 and I'll tell you honestly when I can be there.

Wi-Fi giving you trouble? Let's fix it.

Call or text and tell me what's going on. If I can fix it remotely for $49, I'll say so; if it needs a house call, it's a flat $99.
