Samsung Wallet, at a Glance

Most Galaxy phones come with both Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet — and either can tap to pay. That's not a problem; the trick is to pick one as your default so the same app comes up every time. This guide covers setting up Samsung Wallet, adding cards safely, storing passes and tickets, and choosing between the two wallets. There's a printable 29-page version up top.

Common Questions

1 Why do I have two wallet apps?

Galaxy phones usually include both Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet, and both can tap to pay. Just pick one as your main wallet and set it as the default so the same app comes up every time.

2 Which should I use — Samsung or Google Wallet?

For everyday tapping they're about the same. Google Wallet is more universal and holds some state mobile IDs; Samsung Wallet is tailored to Galaxy. Choose whichever you find easier to open.

3 Is it safe to add my card?

Yes, when you add it inside the real app — your actual card number is hidden from stores, and your bank verifies it's you. Never add a card from a link in a text or email.

4 What if I lose my phone?

Every payment needs your fingerprint, face, or PIN, so a thief can't just tap with it. Use 'find my phone' to lock or erase it, remove your cards remotely, and tell your bank. Your physical cards still work.

5 Can it hold more than payment cards?

Yes — boarding passes, tickets, loyalty cards, and on some phones a digital ID or car/home key, depending on model and region. Check the app to see what's offered.

6 Do I need both wallets?

No. One default wallet does everything most folks need and ends the 'which app is this?' confusion at the register.
