Four steps to a whole-home mesh - the app walks you through each eero, and overlap between them is what makes it seamless.

About Your Eero 6 / Eero 6+ Mesh Wi

The eero 6 (and 6+) is a small, hockey-puck-shaped wireless router made by Amazon. It replaces an old single router. A single eero covers about 1,500 sq ft; most customers have a kit of 2 or 3 units placed around the house so Wi-Fi reaches every room — that's what "mesh" means. The main eero connects to the modem with an Ethernet cable, and the other units talk to each other wirelessly. Setup, password changes, and reboots are all done from the eero app — there is no web admin page.

When to skip the DIY and just call: All three LEDs red, won't clear after one power cycle. · Burning electrical smell from eero or power brick — unplug immediately. · Repeated full-house Wi-Fi failures more than once per week..

Common Questions

1 No internet anywhere in the house

 1. Check the modem first. Internet/online LED solid? If not, it's the ISP — call Spectrum/AT&T.
 2. Modem fine? Look at main eero. Red LED? Unplug 30 sec, plug back in.
 3. Still red? Swap the Ethernet cable from modem → eero with a known-good one.
 4. Still down? eero app → Settings → Network → Restart eero network.

2 Wi-Fi works in living room but not bedroom

 1. Check the bedroom eero's LED. Off? No power.
 2. White LED but app shows "offline"? Move it one room closer to the main eero. They need ~30 ft apart through 1-2 walls.
 3. Persistent? Add a 3rd eero in the hallway, or run Ethernet between them (wired backhaul).

3 New device won't join Wi-Fi

 1. Confirm customer is typing the password EXACTLY — case-sensitive. Use the BHT card.
 2. Older devices (pre-2017 smart TVs) only do 2.4 GHz. App → Settings → Network → "Show network name for legacy devices" makes a 2.4-only network.
 3. Reboot the new device — caches a failed attempt.

4 Wi-Fi password forgotten

 1. eero app → Settings → Wi-Fi password → "Show password." Eye icon reveals.
 2. No app access? You need the Amazon login used at setup. If unknown: factory-reset the main eero (paperclip in reset hole, 15 sec until LED blinks blue) and start over. Warning: erases all settings.

5 Speed way slower than plan

 1. fast.com next to main eero. Still slow? Problem is upstream.
 2. fast.com on laptop plugged via Ethernet straight into modem (bypass eero). Fast there? eero is the bottleneck.
 3. Move main eero up off the floor, away from microwave, fish tank, baby monitor.
 4. eero 6 (not 6+) maxes around 500 Mbps over Wi-Fi. Gigabit customer needs 6+ or Pro 6E.
