Zelle, at a Glance

Zelle lives inside your bank's own app (the standalone Zelle app shut down in 2025) and moves money bank-to-bank in minutes — and it generally can't be reversed. The key thing to understand: if a scammer tricks you into sending it yourself, your bank usually isn't required to refund it. This guide covers enrolling, bank-set limits, and staying safe. There's a printable 29-page version up top.

Common Questions

1 Do I need the Zelle app?

No. The standalone Zelle app shut down in 2025. Use Zelle inside your own bank's app or website — look for 'Send money with Zelle' or a Transfers/Payments menu.

2 How much can I send?

Whatever your bank allows — each sets its own daily and weekly limits, and there's no single Zelle number. Check your bank's app or call your bank to learn yours.

3 If I'm scammed, will my bank refund me?

Usually not if you sent it yourself — that's an authorized payment. Banks must investigate truly unauthorized transfers (someone else accessing your account). Report it anyway and ask; some impersonation scams are now reimbursed, but don't count on it.

4 Is it safe to buy things with Zelle?

No — Zelle has no buyer protection and can't be reversed. Never pay a stranger for goods, a deposit, or a deal. Use PayPal Goods and Services or a credit card instead.

5 'My bank' says to Zelle money to myself to stop fraud — real?

No — that's the top Zelle scam. Your bank will never tell you to send money to yourself or anyone. Hang up and call the number on the back of your card.

6 Is there a fee to receive Zelle money?

No. Real Zelle money just appears in your bank account. Any message demanding a fee or 'upgrade' to receive money is a scam.

Would You Rather I Just Help?

Zelle is speedy and handy for the people you trust — and a scammer's favorite because it can't be undone. I'll help you find it in your bank app, set up alerts, and — most of all — make the one rule stick that keeps your money safe: people you know only, never at a caller's say-so. $99 flat for a visit, 30-day come-back-free.

Would you rather I just do this for you?

No shame in it — plenty of folks would rather hand it off, and that's what I'm here for. I'll come to your home, set it up right, and make sure it's working before I leave. Flat $99 per visit — no jargon, no upsell, and every visit is 30-day come-back-free.

Not a hardware job? I can often fix it remotely for $49 — a secure screen-share, up to 2 hours, that you watch the whole time and can end whenever (included free for $39/mo Support Plan members, and it counts toward the $99 if it turns out I need to come out).
