Troubleshooting Smart Glasses: Pairing, Charging, and App Problems
Last verified: August 2026
When smart glasses act up, it's almost always one of a handful of things. Here are the calm, in-order steps that fix most pairing, charging, and syncing troubles — no jargon.
About fixing smart-glasses problems
Smart glasses lean on three things working together: the glasses themselves, the app on your phone, and your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. When something's wrong, the fix is usually to reset one of those three — and the trick is to try them in order, from easiest to most involved, so you don't make more work than you need.
The single most common cause of trouble is an out-of-date app or an update the glasses haven't finished installing. The second is Bluetooth getting confused, which a restart clears up. The third is photos not moving to your phone, which is almost always because the glasses haven't connected to Wi-Fi to transfer them.
Work down the list below and stop when it's fixed. If you get to the bottom and it's still not right, it may be a hardware issue — and that's worth a hand rather than an afternoon of frustration.

Common Questions
1 My glasses won't pair or keep disconnecting
- Make sure the glasses are charged and out of the case (in the case they may not pair).
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on in your phone's settings, then try again.
- Restart both the glasses and your phone — this clears most connection hiccups.
- In the Meta AI app, remove the glasses and add them again fresh.
- Keep the glasses and phone close together during pairing, away from other Bluetooth gadgets.
2 My photos and videos won't show up on my phone
- Captures transfer over Wi-Fi, so connect the glasses to Wi-Fi in the app.
- Open the Meta AI app and leave it open — syncing happens while the app is running.
- Keep the glasses charged; a very low battery pauses transfers.
- Give large videos a minute or two, and stay near your router.
- If nothing moves, restart the glasses and reopen the app to nudge the sync.
3 My glasses won't charge
- Gently wipe the charging contacts on the glasses and inside the case with a dry cloth — grime blocks charging.
- Make sure the glasses seat firmly in the case; you should see a charging light.
- Charge the case itself first — if the case is empty, it can't charge the glasses.
- Try a different cable and a different wall adapter or USB port.
- Let a fully dead pair sit on the charger fifteen minutes before expecting them to wake up.
4 The app is glitchy or a command won't work
- Update the Meta AI app in the App Store or Play Store — most bugs are fixed in updates.
- Let the glasses install any firmware update the app offers, and don't interrupt it.
- Fully close the app and reopen it.
- Confirm your phone has internet — Meta AI voice commands need it to answer.
- If a feature still won't work after updating and restarting, note exactly what it does and I can take a look.
