The Big Robot Docks, at a Glance

A self-emptying dock tips weeks of dirt into a hidden bag; a mop station rinses and dries the robot's pad, and the fanciest refill its water and detergent. All of it is a comfort, not a necessity — a plain dock cleans just as well. This guide helps you decide whether the extra money and floor space are worth it for your home. There's a printable version up top.

Common Questions

1 What does a self-emptying dock actually do?

It sucks the robot's small bin empty into a big bag hidden in the dock, with a loud whoosh each time. Instead of emptying a little bin every clean, you change one bag every few weeks. It's the most popular upgrade and the one that helps most in a home with pets.

2 What is a mop station and do I need one?

A mop station rinses the robot's dirty mop pad and dries it, and the top models also refill the robot's water tank and dose in detergent. It's a real luxury over a large hard-floor home — and does nothing for a home that's mostly carpet, so many people shouldn't bother.

3 Does a big dock make the floors cleaner?

No. The robot does the cleaning; the dock only decides how often you touch the dirt. A plain charging dock cleans every bit as well. You're paying for fewer chores and more comfort, not a better clean.

4 How much space do these stations need?

A fair bit. A self-empty tower stands tall, and a full mop station is both tall and wide — think of a small kitchen bin in footprint. It wants a flat spot against a wall, on hard floor, with clear room in front and an outlet right there. Measure before you buy.

5 Who should skip the big dock?

Small homes, mostly-carpet homes, tight spaces, and tight budgets. If hand-emptying a small bin is no burden, or you'll never mop, the plain dock gives you nearly all the value for far less money and no floor space.

6 Is there extra upkeep with a big dock?

Yes, a little. You'll change dust bags every few weeks, and a mop station needs its tray rinsed weekly, its water tanks topped and emptied, and detergent refilled. None of it is hard, but it trades one big chore for a few small ones.

Would You Rather I Just Help?

Deciding whether the big dock is worth your money is exactly the kind of thing I love to help with — there's real satisfaction in not paying for what you won't use. I'll look at your floors, your pets and your space and give you an honest read, then set up the robot and its schedule so it just runs. $99 flat for a visit, 30-day come-back-free.

Would you rather I just do this for you?

No shame in it — plenty of folks would rather hand it off, and that's what I'm here for. I'll come to your home, set it up right, and make sure it's working before I leave. Flat $99 per visit — no jargon, no upsell, and every visit is 30-day come-back-free.

Not a hardware job? I can often fix it remotely for $49 — a secure screen-share, up to 2 hours, that you watch the whole time and can end whenever (included free for $39/mo Support Plan members, and it counts toward the $99 if it turns out I need to come out).
