The Robot Fix List, at a Glance
A robot that stalls, gets lost, or drops off the app is almost never broken — it usually just needs a small bit of help. This guide is a calm, in-order fix list for the common troubles: wheels, brushes, sensors, the dock, and Wi-Fi. Work down it and you'll very likely have the robot running again today. There's a printable version up top.
Common Questions
1 My robot keeps getting stuck. Is it broken?
Almost never. The usual culprits are hair wound around a wheel or brush, or a snag like a rug corner or a cord. Flip the robot over, clear the wheels and brushes, and tidy the spot it keeps catching on — that solves most stuck-robot calls.
2 The app says my robot is offline. How do I fix it?
The robot is usually fine — the connection dropped. Most robots use only the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, so reboot your router, then re-connect the robot in its app and pick that network. This is exactly the kind of thing I can walk you through remotely over a screen-share for $49.
3 Why won't my robot charge on its dock?
Wipe the metal charging contacts on both the robot and the dock with a dry cloth, make sure the outlet is live and the cord is snug, and give the dock a bit of clear space against a wall. A dirty contact is the most common reason a robot sits there but never charges.
4 Why can't my robot find its way back to the dock?
The dock needs a clear line of sight and a tidy path. Pull clutter away from around it, and don't shuffle the dock to new spots — a mapping robot remembers where home is. If it got lost, carry it within sight of the dock and send it home.
5 My robot dies halfway through now. Is the battery bad?
Maybe — batteries wear out over a few years and are usually a replaceable part. But first clear the brushes and wheels, since a hair-choked robot works harder and drains faster. Rule out the simple things before you buy a new battery, and check a genuine one is still sold for your model.
