1 Can I use one charger for all my batteries?
Only if it matches each battery's chemistry, or has a chemistry setting you set correctly each time. Lead-acid and lithium want different charging, so check before you connect.
2 Can I leave a battery plugged in overnight?
If it's a quality automatic charger or maintainer that floats correctly, yes — it eases off when full. A cheap, dumb charger shouldn't be left unattended, so unplug that kind when the battery is full.
3 What should I never charge?
Never charge a battery that's swollen, cracked, leaking, wet, or ice-cold. A swollen lithium battery is a stop-now signal — isolate it away from flammables and recycle it safely.
4 Is it safe to charge indoors?
Yes — a battery makes no carbon monoxide, so it's safe indoors, unlike a generator. Use a hard surface, fresh air, and a sound battery. Give lead-acid extra ventilation for the hydrogen it gives off.
5 My battery was out in the cold. Can I charge it?
Let a lithium battery warm to room temperature first — charging it freezing-cold can damage the cells. Most quality packs' BMS blocks cold charging anyway, but warming it up is the safe habit.
