2 How much wind or snow can it take?

3 What about hail — won't it break the panels?

Quality panels are tempered and hail-rated, tested to take the knocks of real weather, so ordinary hailstorms usually pass without harm. Nothing outdoors is truly storm-proof, though, which is exactly what your homeowner's insurance is for.

4 Is an open, windy spot a bad place for an array?
