1 Why is my panel charging so slowly?

The most common reasons are simple: the panel is lying flat instead of tilted at the sun, part of it is in shade, or it's just a cloudy or short winter day. Tilt it toward the sun, keep the whole face clear, and remember that real output is always below the sticker.

2 Does a small shadow really matter?

Yes — more than you'd expect. A shadow over even a small part of the panel — from a railing, a branch, or the charging cable lying across it — can drag down the whole panel's output. Keep the entire face in full sun.

3 Why isn't the station taking any charge at all?

Usually it's the wrong port (the AC wall-charge port instead of the solar input), a plug that isn't fully seated, the input switched off, or a panel whose voltage is outside the station's window. Our troubleshooting guide walks through it step by step.

4 What's the one mistake that can damage my gear?

5 Can I leave the panel out in the rain?

Many panels shrug off some rain, but the connectors and the station usually aren't waterproof — keep those dry and off wet ground, and secure a light panel so wind can't flip it. And always let a foldable dry before you fold it away, or it can mildew.

6 How do I make sure solar helps in an outage?

Don't count on solar alone through a storm. Charge the station full from the wall beforehand, then let the sun top it up when it returns. Solar is a top-up, not a guarantee — starting full is what carries you through the gray days.
